Theres a hand full of rappers who don't flaunt there money, but they're less popular with the younger generation and since rap is primarily marketed to a younger audience the image is upheld. In a few more years when theres enough older rappers that are still relevent, hip hop is still growing it's naturally progressing through it's phases. Although theres plenty of rappers who have less main stream music with more mature issues it's a business and they know where the money is.

These media people are getting more and more lame everyday. And most people can see through it, thank Goddess! They are implying that blowing money fast is something unique to rappers? Tell that to Jay Leno, he has 84 cars and 73 motorcycles. That's a total of 157 automobiles! Of course it is okay for him to do that though. He has the complexion for protection.

If it helps any. I am rapper and I live on a budget. And I am not too proud to use a coupon on my oatmeal either. Damn right. -PRTCO

Rappers have to have a certain level of swagger more than most artists, but if you look at rappers like, Eminem, he is very frugal with his money, he got a $100,000 rolex or $250,000 I forget, from his agent for selling 10million records, he doesn't even wear it because he's afraid to lose/damage it. I give him major props.
